Resolutions

Hello long lost blog readers...Im WAY behind! Someday I will write and update on all the things that have gone on since I wrote last, but for now....Happy 2012! :)

Cant believe another year is gone! We are looking forward to a happy and healthy new year. Thinking back on all we went through last year makes us feel all the more blessed and know that God is with us everyday. I think we both appreciate each other, life, and the love of friends and family more.

I was just reflecting on the word 'resolution' today and thinking of how I use it in my life. I dont make "new years resolutions". One reason because I know I wont stick to it, and two because I feel it puts too much pressure on me to be perfect. Not that there's anything wrong with making a resolution for the new year...I just know its not for me. Resolution the word has many meanings...it could mean to resolve a problem or issue in one's life. Or you could resolve to stop smoking, stop a bad habit or begin doing something better in your life (all great things!)

Or take for example, the 'resolution' on a TV screen, the more the pixels the higher/better the resolution. When all those thousands of pixels come together they make a perfect picture. Hence why people want the "perfect" higher res TV. But we were not made in God's eyes to be perfect, we are sinners and must remind ourselves of that, and ask for forgiveness often. It is ok to not be "high resolution"..something I must tell myself a lot.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 ESV
"All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work. "

So this year I strive among LOTS of other things...to love harder, focus on God more, let go of having to be in control...and have less pixels ;) Wish you all a wonderful and blessed 2012!

More to come...
