A New Year...

In a few days we will all celebrate the passing of an old year and the entering of a new year. As you get older you realize how fast the years go by--and all that you wished to do that you did not get to do in the past year. So here's to us all, for a happy a blessed 2010, and that we cross off our "bucket list"!

(oh and dont forget to keep those dreaded New Year resolutions! ha!)

Give Thanks

During this time of the year, remember to take time to give thanks. Give thanks for the little things, the big things and all the things in between! :) There is so much in our world to be thankful for, and so much to pray for...Oh and remember not too eat too much food either-ha!

Bryan and I thank God for our family, friends and our lives together...and most of all His love. We look forward to the holidays getting to see everyone again--and making special memories.

This is our Tinker 'T' pumpkin for Halloween! Saw the idea in a magazine, and thought it was cute...Bryan did all the hard work, I just added the paint touches. It is easy to do as long as you have a stencil to go by.

Welcome Fall

The weather is getting chillier and the leaves are starting to change...its Fall! I am ready for smells of pumpkin pie and apple cider....yum...

After many more tests and doctor visits Bryan is still 'normal'--which is a good thing, but we were really hoping to find a name for this disease (or diseases) that Bryan has! He had a bone marrow biopsy two weeks ago--everything was normal except his iron levels were low. Bryan's healthy, but dealing with a chronic illness is no fun! I feel bad for him and wish there was something I could do. I just have to put it in God's hands--he will take care of Bryan. I just continue to pray that he will be well.

Bryan celebrated his 28th birthday last week (yes--we are getting old! ha!). We went home to TN and he was able to go to a UT football game (we won!) and spend time with family--thats always fun!

I am still job hunting...ugh...I really need to find a job...that would be a HUGE prayer answered! I did coordinate my first wedding this month as a business owner though!! :) (www.yourperfectparty.biz) I will post pictures--it was nice! We are getting (and by 'we' I mean 'I' am getting the baby bug (ha!)--so a job would really speed that along for us! I am in that transition part of my life, trying to figure out whats best for me (and us)...anyway...God will provide.

ATP Tennis

This is what we were working for while volunteering at the ATP tournament here in Mason, OH. Our church, Grace Baptist Church raised money for our missionaries to go to Africa. God used this event to bless us all and reach out in the community. It was a great experience and another way to see how God works in our lives.

Updates

Where to begin?
We've been busy...my parents were here last week, such a nice time together. We ate way too much and shopped WAY too much! ;) It is always nice to see them...its hard not having family or close friends up here with us. But we have to find happiness within our lives together...and rely on God to bless us. Mom and I went to a bridal show--brought back fun memories--I hope to have a booth there for the January show!

Found out a bunch of friends are pregnant both here and in TN...guess Bryan and I need to catch up! ha! Had lunch bunch with girlfriends from church...but missed Bunco...summer has flown by!

I have figured out that I am becoming a darn good wife...and I guess Bryan's a good husband too ;) ...life these past few years together we have learned alot!

We are finally getting a new roof...but there is still no complete satisfaction--we always want more when it comes to the house! may be we can win the lottery?

I am working the ATP pro Tennis tournament here in OH for the next two weeks...and hopefully a job offer will come after that! (from the catering company I am working for) So I have been stressed getting ready for that....

Bryan is good--working hard...still feeling good...for now he does not have to have surgery or be on cancer drugs, so that was a HUGE blessing! Well, guess thats it for now...will post more later!

Va-cay

Hey all--
Just returned from summer vacation with the family. We went to Hilton Head, SC...Bryan and I took a day trip to Charleston....pictures to post soon!!
It was a nice trip...but always nice to get back home...celebrated the 4th with lots of BBQ and family.

Now back to reality! House chores, no beach, job hunting...we'll guess there's next year! :)

Give Back

Did Paint the Town yesterday with the hubby...good times--but tired today!! This is my second year and Bryan's third volunteering. GE sponsors a house each year with Give Back Cincinnati (a volunteer organization in downtown Cincy) and we all go paint a house. This year there was a total of 42 homes painted and over 1,000 volunteers! Its so nice to be able to give back to the community, and know that we made someone's day, week, month or year by just painting their house! God Bless us all!

Welcome summer!
I know its been a long while...All is good here in OH--exciting news for me ...I am a business owner! I started my own party planning business (working from home). I will have the website up soon! I am hoping this is the "big break" I have been waiting on in my life! Bryan is good--working hard...we stay busy!

Spring is here!

Hello all-

Welcome Spring!! (Hopefully) We are ready for nice weather. Its been a while...and we have been busy in OH!! Alot good and bad has gone on in our lives...Bryan made it back from Brazil safely, and had a great time! I went home to TN...thats always nice.

Lets see...we got new furniture...Bryan wrecked his car... (he's ok--super bummed about the Beemer though) ...I am still job hunting, but have a new job prospect hopefully opening up for me! We are actively involved in church activities, so that keeps us busy...we love hanging out with our OH friends...We have learned that through all the stuff that happens, your friends and family are there for you! They have been great! :)

My birthday is coming up--another year older! Looking forward to corn hole and cookouts...the Reds start playing again soon...Easter is coming up--my parents should be joining us in OH this year (first Easter at our house)....guess thats it for now!

we're here...

...wow, february flew by! we have been busy--I traveled to Washington DC with a friend....Bryan is leaving for Brazil next weekend, gone for two weeks! I will miss him, but should be an exciting trip--he is going with work, so therefore I cannot go...I know, unfair! I will be heading to TN, excited to see family and friends. I have been involved in church activities and hanging out with friends...

So much has happened in life and in the world these past few weeks/months....continued job loss...new President...economy falling...illness...conflict...happiness...new endeavors...etc...but through all of it we have to rely on God's grace and love. He will love us no matter what as long as we continue to thank him for all that we have been given!

anyway...we are looking forward to Spring weather here in OH....finally! ready to break out the corn hole and have a cook out! Bryan is still feeling good and getting good reports from the doctor (what a blessing)...we have so many summer projects to get to once the weather gets better.

What's New

Hey all!
Its been a while since our last post--we have been traveling and busy lately. Bryan is traveling a lot with work--he is going to Brazil for two weeks in March!! (look out TN here I come-ha!) I am still job hunting and doing my wifey duties-ha! The job market is just awful...hopefully our new President can help us out?! Let's pray for our Country. There are so many changes that will be occuring...lets just hope for the best!

I was home in TN last week since Bryan was gone---and got to try the new cupcake place in Knoxville--so good! I recommend the red velvet cake and choc peanut butter (thanks Tracy!) It was so nice to see family and hang out back home--but its also nice to get back to my other home! I am starting to realize that OH is my/our home now--I am a visitor in TN...crazy! It was nice to see my girlfriends over the holidays, and catch up...I miss them. Hopefully next New Year's will be better than 2008--I had the stomach bug and did not get to go out! :( poor B was stuck with me!


What else is new? Not much...finally got my car repaired from the accident (thankfully not my fault) ...been reading (a great book called This Momentary Marriage by John Piper) ...going to church...singing...playing Wii...watching lots of TV---have hopes of working out (???) We are ready (as are most of you) for some warmer weather, the wind chill and snow gets old--but I think its only just begun! Bryan is still feeling good--and keeping up with his doctor visits. We watched some good movies lately--liked Wanted, The Duchess, Wall-e...looking forward to seeing more.

Welcome 2009

2008 was a busy year for the Tinkers, but here's to a new one!!

Here's to another year to make resolutions...that we dont keep...another year to do all those things we said we'd do last year...so instead of resolutions, lets just make suggestions! That way if we dont lose the weight we wanted, or get to travel, start spending less money, eat less, or stop biting nails _________ (insert your thing here) ...we wont be letting ourselves down! Focus on achieving day to day successes---and look at all the things we are blessed to have. We should just strive to live each day to the fullest, thanking God for all our/His blessings.

2008 was a good year--make 2009 even better! :)
